The Big Food Companies Don't Want You to Be Healthy

Apparently the US "food industry" is going to file a lawsuit against New York City for attempting to ban the use of hydrogenated fats in restaurants in the city.

I say Hooray for NYC!

This reminds me of the tobacco companies trying to keep cigarrettes in our mouths because they made bald faced LIES when they pointed to studies that proved they weren't harmful to human health. Same thing here except there are ALREADY studies that show hydrogenated (synthetically produced) fats are carcinogenic. We can choose to not have hydrogenated fats when we shop at the grocery store finally, but we can't make that choice in a restaurant.

You would THINK that with the overwhelming evidence against hydrogenated fats that the companies who make this junk would say - hey you know what - this stuff is bad for people - let's not continue to make it - just on their consciences alone. But money and greed drives these big food corporations and in the end, it will only come home to roost when it hits them in their BIG FAT POCKETS. We, as consumers, have to speak with our dollars and stop buying their CRAP.
